The Tarantula

1941--mystery writer and journalist John Law is upset over the way rampant crime and the threat posed by foreign saboteurs bent on destroying America's before she enters the war in Europe.

John Law devises a webgun that can fire a stun blast, spin a silken thread from which he can swing, or snare the villains he is about to seek out. Also, he also creates "vacuum disks," attached to the feet of the uniform made by his housekeeper, so he can easily walk up the side of walls and hang from ceilings.

Thus armed, John Law becomes the fearsome Tarantula, fighter of evil and defender of the American way. Other than his great webgun and his trick costume, the Tarantula has no special powers, though he is in top physical shape and possesses a sharp analytical mind. Sadly, the hero known as the Tarantula has only a little over a year and a half of adventures before this great crusader of justice vanishes, disappearing into the unknown of oblivion.
