Here is a heroine who employed a gimmick or two that relates to our last two subjects.
This is the profile on...

Spider Queen

Sensing danger in the air, widow Shannon Kane gets into her fighting costume in order to break up a bank robbery as the Spider Queen! Foiling the bank robbers, she trusses up one of them and sets off in hot pursuit of the rest of the gang. But they are soon gone in their fast getaway car, while the Spider Queen wonders where the police are. But the police, in the person of plainclothes detective Mike O'Bell, are not far away...

"What's that? Sounds like a lot of shouting for a quiet day! Suppose it might be..." wonders Mike O' Bell.
"Well, that's quick work. At least one policeman seems to be on his toes today," remarks the Spider Queen from a nearby rooftop. Arriving upon the scene, Mike O'Bell sees what the commotion is all about...
"It's a bank robbery! But it didn't quite come off, apparently!...But it doesn't explain what happened here...they got the guard, but he got one of them" notes Mike. "But...say this guy wasn't shot at all! Look at that filament! I bet I know whose work this is!" And, with that, Mike O' Bell rushes back to police headquarters.

    Once there he explains...

"Look, Chief! The Spider Queen again! She broke up a robbery at the Gaxton Bank just now!" Mike excitedly relates.
"What! That vixen again! Why, I'll...uhh...by the way, O'Bell, have you shown this bag to anyone but me?" asks his chief.
    "Why...no, sir!" he replies.
"Well, just keep it under your hat, see? That is...er...a departmental matter of course!" the chief hastily explains.
"Why surely, sir," Mike assures him. Looking into the bag of money, the chief fumes...
"The young blockhead! This is one time the Spider Queen won't cheat me on a job! And if O'Bell says anything, it's his word against mine!" gloats the chief. Peering into the chief's window, the Spider Queen sees all of this...
"Oho, my sweet! So you're the missing link in our local crime ring! I'll just keep an eye on you!" she comments.
"But I'd better get this stuff to the hideout the first thing tomorrow," the chief says aloud. Young Mike O'Bell leaves the station house a bit puzzled.
"Now why the heck does the chief blow his top that way...When the Spider Queen's on our side?" queries Mike. "And who is this Spider Queen anyway? Wish I knew what her racket is..." He walks down the street under the watchful eyes of the Spider Queen who is on a nearby rooftop.

An interesting question--just who is the Spider Queen?...Only two years ago she was plain Shannon Kane, wife and assistant to a brilliant young government chemist on a special assignment.

"Uh-h...Shannon!" the scientist starts to ask his assistant.
"Yes, dear?" replies the young wife.
"What about those tests on the new steel?" he finishes.
"All ready for you, dear!" she says as she leaves the room. But the enemies of his country have Dr. Harry Kane slated for death. Breaking into his laboratory...
"Stop! You can't..." BANG BANG..."Ohhhh" and Dr. Kane falls dead on the floor.
"Oh, yeah? Grab the papers, Rudy!" And the two murdering thieves leave. Hearing the shots, Shannon Kane comes running....
"OH-H-H-Harry! What have they...HELP! SOMEONE!" cries out Shannon. But it's too late.

    Later, after the funeral...

"So, Harry's gone...and I'll have to carry in somehow! First I must straighten up these old records, I guess." And, as she does, Shannon makes a startling discovery....
"Spider-web fluid? That's a new one... No wonder Harry never found a use for it. But say..." An idea comes to the widow Kane. Shannon investigates the strange properties of this fluid...
"As you release it into the air, it becomes a thin adhesive filament! My word! It sticks like glue! And it's actually strong enough to swing on!" she notes. Ingeniously devising a set of special bracelets to contain the fluid and to release it as needed, Shannon Kane becomes the Spider Queen! Sworn enemy of saboteurs, racketeers, gangsters, and criminals of every sort! Thus begins the career of the Spider Queen!
