Here is an unusual phenomenon, a zombie as a force for good.
This next tale is the profile on...

The Purple Zombie

Zoro, a convict, lies in the prison morgue. Life is over for the once vibrant man. Or is it? A team of scientists, experimenting with re-animating the dead, acquires Zoro’s body and subjects him to their experimental procedures. And it works! But Zoro is enraged at being revived as a zombie (a Purple Zombie no less). Worse still, he discovers that the scientists (with the exception of Kim Hale) plan on gaining money and vast power by violating the dead. So he kills the wicked scientists but spares Kim Hale.

Next the Purple Zombie befriends Chico, a redheaded hunchbacked scientist. Chico has created an army of mechanized skeletons to fight an invading army in war-torn Europe who use a death-ray against their enemies. After cleaning up the death-ray problem, the Zombie and Hale get accidentally sent back into the past by a time machine invented by yet another eccentric scientist. Chico comes to their rescue but loses his life in the process, while Hale and the Zombie get safely back to the present.

Yes, Moonbeam, and on the Purple Zombie's return, he now claimed he was never dead but was just an escaped convict who'd been hiding in the morgue, waiting to get free to clear his name. Now he is suddenly proven innocent of his crimes and enlists in the army, making him just about the only purple soldier in military history! But the fact is that the Purple Zombie was indeed a true zombie.
