British Fury reporting back in with another look
through the Futuroscope found on the alien craft. The Red Comet |
| The year is 2040. Man has progressed in great strides, but crime and greed still remain. One man, the Red Comet, mysterious adventurer against crime and warmongers, pits his strength and magical powers against these two most devastating scourges of civilization. The daily newspaper prints a startling story--"No crimes have been committed for two weeks." The public is amazed and overjoyed at the feeling of security this news brings. But the police feel less secure. Though they are happy that the world is safe from crime, nevertheless, their jobs are pretty shaky now. The Police Captain bets it’s the Red Comet’s doing--and he’s right! The mysterious Red Comet combs the Earth for its underworld denizens! His magical powers attract him to criminals as a magnet is attracted to steel. Soon he has purged the world of its thieves and murderers. Flying at a terrific clip in his space ship, the Red Comet speeds his criminal horde through the heavens on a magnetic ray. He visits each of the inhabitable planets and deposits a criminal on each one, leaving him to fend for himself on his own. In another form of punishment for war profiteers, the Red Comet uses his magic to give them a taste of what war is truly like. The Red Comet sets his victims down on a terrifying battlefield In reality, it is a mock war created by his magic, but the battle is very real to the warmongers. Shells whiz by their ears, and bombs explode a few feet from them. For days the terrible nightmare goes on. The war profiteers, sick and half-mad with fear, fatigue and hunger, have learned what men go through in the wars they make. Screaming for mercy, they run about like wild men. At last all is quiet, and the Red Comet hurtles them into the fathomless void of outer space, spinning forever into infinity. On to further righteous deeds speeds the Red Comet. |
