    Black as night itself, with a laugh on her lips and a greedy clutch to her fingers, she came riding out of the Arizona dust. As deadly a shot as Annie Oakley, as daring as Butch Cassidy with his Wild Bunch, she is the most glamorous outlaw in the entire west. Her beauty is breathtaking, and her guns never miss! This is the Black Phantom. She rides the outlaw trail, until fate throws the Red Mask across her path. The female outlaw captures Chito, the Red Mask's sidekick, with murder in mind. The Red Mask comes to the rescue and saves his pard. While being pursued, the Black Phantom apparently falls to her death off a cliff. But this was not the end of the Black Phantom! She returns, wanting to go straight. The Black Phantom gang rides into the Red Mask's town to commit a bank robbery, only to be met by the Red Mask. They capture him and would have killed him, if not for the intercession of the Black Phantom, who catches her old gang off guard and takes them prisoner for the Red Mask, who promptly throws them in jail.

    The Black Phantom tells the Red Mask her intentions of going straight. And to prove it she will fool the rest of her former gang into committing a bank robbery with her, so that they can be caught and jailed too. She rides out to her old hideout where her gang waits for her. But, unknown to the Black Phantom, one of the other bank robbers has escaped and has warned her former partners of her plan. The Black Phantom is taken prisoner by the wised-up badmen and imprisoned in a cage, suspended from a cliff! Meanwhile the desperadoes go into town and rob a different bank instead, and they also free the previously captured members. The furious Red Mask feels betrayed by the Black Phantom. He swears that he will bring them to justice. Tracking the gang to their hideout, he discovers that the Black Phantom did not betray him and that she is doomed to die unless the Red Mask can rescue her. The Red Mask defeats the Black Phantom's former gang by undermining the very cliff she hangs from, so it is they who plunge to their death, not the Black Phantom. And with the aid of the Red Mask she does reform and teams up with the Red Mask to rid the west of outlaws.
