In July 1942, with the war in Europe and the South Pacific raging on, Chase Yale, war correspondent, joins Naval Intelligence. While covering the war in both theaters of operation, Chase seems to have a talent for uncovering events that seriously threaten the war effort. Since the best method of battling these enemies of freedom is covertly, Chase Yale creates the secret identity of Commando Yank, foe of evil and infamy. As a reporter, Chase can visit either field of operation wherever he is needed as Commando Yank, whether it’s fighting Nazis in Europe or battling the Japanese and their spies in the South Pacific. In February 1945, Commando Yank teams up with the Phantom Eagle (Mickey Malone) to battle a great evil force that threatens the outcome of the war. After the war, Chase enters commercial television and becomes a world-roving newscaster in search of stories for his television audience. Writing stories based on his adventures as Commando Yank, Chase can easily present them to his public ahead of everyone else. Commando Yank possesses average, normal human capabilities but is an excellent hand-to-hand fighter and master in the exotic fighting arts. He also has quite a talent with firearms of all sizes and descriptions, and he is an explosive expert as well. Wherever there are wrongs to be righted in the world, you will find Chase and Commando Yank ever ready! |
