Winter of 1954... Professor Keith Spencer is doing complex research into cobalt radiation in his laboratory in Atom City, when, due to an accident during an experiment, his body is saturated with trillions of ergs of deadly cobalt radiation. Knowing he is going to die for certain, Keith retires to his home to wait out his last living days. To his surprise, while taking a hot shower, the heat activates the cobalt radiation in his system, and Keith is now imbued with the power of the atom! He has been endowed with super-strength and great durability; he no longer needs his glasses to see correctly. Keith Spencer has become the perfect human specimen. With a clap of his hands, Keith can now become superhuman for a few hours at a time. Clapping again reactivates his abilities, but for a shorter time each time he does so. One night under the stars, Keith vows to use his great powers against the forces of evil. He is heard by his next door neighbor's young boy, Ricky Davis. Now onto Keith's secret, Ricky will become Keith's new partner in the war on crime, as Keith assumes the alter ego of Captain Flash. Captain Flash and a costumed Ricky battle the sinister evils that beset the world. For transport, Captain Flash keeps a prototype jet plane in an underground hangar under his mountaintop hideout to speed him and Ricky anywhere in the world, to fight evil wherever it exists. After only twelve adventures, Captain Flash and Ricky disappear from the crime-fighting scene. |
