Phantom Lady
I

Sandra Knight, debutante daughter of Senator Henry Knight, is waiting for her father on the steps of the capitol when two thugs attempt to assassinate her father. Thinking quickly, Sandra pulls a newspaper from the trash, rolls it tight, and smacks the weapon from their hands! Later, she stumbles across an invention by a family friend, Professor Davis. Davis has sent her father a blackout ray to show the defense department. Modifying the projector and putting it in a purse on her side, Sanda becomes the crime-smashing Phantom Lady! While the society columns record the activities of Sandra Knight, the headlines report the Phantom Lady’s battles against spies and public enemies. Not even her father or her boyfriend Don Borden suspect that she is Phantom Lady! The dark-of-night debutante detective teams up on a few occasions with the Spider Widow and the Raven (see individual entries) as a crime-fighting trio! Lacking any special powers, the Phantom Lady relies on her blackout ray, her keen mind, and her superb physical abilities.
