 The
Comedian

Spurred on by reports of Hooded Justice, young Edward Blake decides to fight crime as the Comedian. Possessing excellent fighting skills and a ferocious talent for violence, the Comedian makes a lasting impression on his foes/victims as well as the media, almost treating crime as a laughing matter.

In the fall of 1939, the Comedian joins an assembled group of men and women known as the Minutemen of America. However, he left the group early in 1940 after trying to rape another member of the group. Thereafter the Comedian was a solo crime fighter. Later that year Blake was wounded in a stabbing incident, which led him to change his bright yellow outfit to for a darker and more protective costume. The Comedian also fought in the South Pacific during World War II, becoming a war hero in the eyes of the media. Some may disagree on what type of hero Blake was, but his actions spoke for themselves.

After the war, Blake resumed his crime-fighting career and at some point became an agent of the US government. The Comedian was still actively fighting crime as of 1960, when this survey ends.
