    As Richard Wentworth, rich criminologist, magician and jack-of-all-trades, he aids the police and government officials on cases too tough for them to handle. However, as the Spider, he is a wanted man. Aided by his beloved Nita Van Sloan and his loyal manservant Ram Singh, Wentworth battles the forces of evil, including racketeers bent on crippling war production for their own personal gain and the Octopus who strives to amass great wealth and power at the expense of others. But the Spider triumphs over them all! Wentworth also uses another assumed identity, Blinky McQuade, to infiltrate the underworld and obtain valuable information in the war against freedom!
