Owl Girl

February 1941. Belle Wayne has found out that her boyfriend Nick Terry, the former police department special investigator and now her co-worker at the newspaper, is really the crime-smashing Owl (see individual entry for the Owl II). She badgers him into letting her become his partner in his adventures, which she sees as pure fun. Finally, Nick can take no more; he is in love with Belle, and, besides, she's already created a costume and threatened to strike out on her own.

Relenting, the Owls make a fine pair of crime fighters. While the daring Owl strikes from above, Owl Girl is ever ready to back him up in whatever capacity he needs her. Owl Girl has no special abilities or powers, but she is an adept fighter and can fly the Owl Plane, while the Owl swoops down from the motorized bird of prey upon the unsuspecting criminals that they pursue. Belle Wayne as Owl Girl, however, did not participate in every adventure that the Owl had. By 1943 the twin terrors of the night skies had retired.
