Sir Justin, a knight in King Arthur's Camelot, is on a mission for his king. Armed by Merlin the Magician with an enchanted lance, sword, and body armor, Sir Justin sets forth with his winged horse, named, appropriately enough, Winged Victory to stop an evil giant who has become the scourge of the north of Merrie Olde England. After defeating the evil giant a mishap befalls Sir Justin and his steed. They fall into a deep pit where they are frozen deep in suspended animation. With the outbreak of World War II, Sir Justin and Winged Victory are finally revived and set out to get acquainted with the "new" world in which they have awakened. Making his way to North America, Sir Justin adopts the identity of Justin Arthur, and becomes an assistant museum curator. When not doing his everyday job, Sir Justin goes out crime-fighting as the Shining Knight! Some time later, the Shining Knight joins together with several other heroes to form the Seven Soldiers of Victory, also known as the Law's Legionnaires. Within this group, Sir Justin fights the evils menacing mankind more effectively. Eventually, though, the group disbands, and the Seven Soldiers go their separate ways. The Shining Knight had a relatively long if somewhat subdued, career, lasting almost a decade before fading into obscurity. |
