The Crimson Avenger I

Pipe-smoking Lee Travis, young journalist and publisher of the Daily Globe-Leader newspaper, a seemingly easy-going fellow, puts on the red cloak of the Crimson Avenger and goes amongst the underworld of racketeers, thieves, and murderers to ferret out these evil elements. Originally garbed like some ersatz "Shadow" (as seen here), Lee Travis soon dons the colorful tights he is seen wearing here. Eventually, he joins a group of like-minded crimefighters to form the Seven Soldiers of Victory a.k.a. the Law’s Legionnaires. The Crimson Avenger and his faithful Oriental companion Wing (see individual entry) fight side by side against the greater evils of the world. The Crimson Avenger has no known super-powers, just fine athletic abilities, a keen deductive mind, and the willingness to fight injustice wherever it may be found.
