Green Mask II

    Little Johnny Green has this problem. Every time he becomes afraid, he faints away, while a powerful figure known as the Green Mask takes his place to get rid of whatever is scaring poor Johnny. It is not known if this enigmatic Green Mask is the original hero from years before (see entry on Green Mask I) or is simply Johnny in a magical body of immense power. For with a single shout of "Green Mask," Johnny vanishes, and the mighty Green Mask appears! And mighty he is indeed! This Green Mask can fly, has enormous strength, and is bulletproof. But he is not so powerful that single blows can’t knock him unconscious. It is unlikely that the original Green Mask is doing Johnny's deeds, because he never exhibited these abilities. It seems instead that Johnny’s magical protection comes from some unknown source. In one case, Johnny's babysitter Susan assumes the role of Miss Green Mask (see individual entry) when Johnny, bound and gagged by kidnappers, is unable to say his "magic word." However, this Miss Green Mask has no special powers or abilities, just incredible courage and ingenuity. Johnny, upon being freed from his restraints, becomes the real Green Mask (!) and captures the kidnappers before they can harm Susan. Johnny does not know that Susan has impersonated him, nor does Susan know that Johnny can become the Green Mask, whom she so admires.
