| Detroit, Michigan, 1944. In the office of the O.S.S., Johnny Calhoon's boss tells him the latest news. It seems a non-Nazi German named Schrag has discovered some "ginkazoo" that's reputed to break every known law of gravity. We next see our intrepid hero parachuting into Angermunde, where he is welcomed by Velvet McCall, the Espionage Queen. Johnny finds the formula of the German scientist and swallows it for safekeeping. In doing so, Johnny Calhoon gains power over gravity and magnetism. He dutifully suits up in the appropriate attire for his new career as Captain Magnet, foe of evildoers around the world! Schrag’s mystic formula gives Captain Magnet the ability to defy gravity, repel or attract any metal object, and increase his strength and mass, making him super strong and nearly impregnable. Captain Magnet fights crime well into the late 1940's. |
