Wonderman

    Early in 1939, Fred Carson, radio engineer for the International Broadcasting Company and an amateur part-time inventor, is vacationing in Tibet, where he receives a magic ring from an old yogi to battle all evil in the name of humanity and justice. Now known as Wonderman, Fred can leap into the air for great distances, has Herculean strength and is nearly invulnerable to all physical harm. In is first and only case, Wonderman stops a hospital from being bombed by anarchists. Unfortunately, Fred Carson's boss, the gruff Mr. Hastings has no use for the wimpy Fred, as does Mr. Hastings’ daughter Brenda, who is a nurse at the hospital Wonderman saves. Brenda is engaged to the rich stuffy playboy Reggie Berold, who thinks Wonderman is a threat! Not to worry Reggie, Brenda and Mr. Hastings, Fred Carson alias Wonderman is soon "retired" after his first and only case, never to be seen again.
