This gentleman started off on the dark side of
the law. The Flame-Breather |
|
1940 It is early January, when the winds of winter evil blow. The circus comes into town, protected by the famed champion of justice Steel Sterling. At the circus, a carnival performer known as Inferno the Flame Breather is mixed up in criminal affairs. Promising to reform, Inferno carries on with the circus, going from town to town and doing good deeds wherever he goes. Having the unexplained ability to project fire from his mouth at will, Inferno was capable of many amazing feats. He could melt through iron doors and bars; he could also melt bullets before they struck him. His unmasked identity is still a secret, for no one knows who he is or where Inferno comes from. |
|
It should also be noted, Liz,
that Inferno some time later became a private detective and lent his abilities
in the service of those needy people too poor to help themselves. Often
taking on their cases for no money or fee, rather just the satisfaction
of helping his fellow man. One of the few cases of a hero coming from
the wrong side of the law as a criminal and reforming for the good of
mankind.
