Out of the dark of night comes our
next subject, stalking the two-legged prey known as man. The Black Panther |
|
Through the black, still night moves the Black Panther on the trail of a sinister fiend known as Argo. This hideous creature steals his way into the house of famed scientist, Professor Taft, in order to kidnap the good professor and obtain the secret of Taft's new fluid. This fluid will petrify any living creature on earth! Argo strikes and strangles the professor into unconsciousness. Dragging him to a waiting car, Argo and his henchmen speed off, but not before a sinister cat-like figure lands softly upon the speeding getaway car. The Black Panther would have stopped this sooner, but he suspects that there is bigger game to catch this dark and foreboding night. The Black Panther leaps from the roof of the car before it reaches a secret tunnel. The car comes to rest, and Argo and his prize captive are now before Eric Rogats! |

Rogats wants the formula to use
against the Allied Powers who are at war with his homeland. Resorting
to hideous torture, Rogats and Argo extract the formula from Professor
Taft and concoct a batch of it to see if it will work. The subject of
this experiment is Taft himself. The Black Panther, who has stealthily
made his way to the torture chamber, leaps into action. In the ensuing
struggle, Argo tries to use a hypodermic needle full of the petrifying
fluid on the Black Panther. But the avenging hero is too quick for the
evil fiend, and it is Argo who ends up tasting the needle full of the
deadly fluid. Rogats is now in a panic! Trapped upon the tower high above
the river of quicksand below, he tries to scale down the wall to escape
the Black Panther's wrath. But in his haste the villain falls to his doom
in the murky quicksand below and sinks into the mire. The Black Panther
stands triumphantly gazing on the evil Rogats's final fate, while the
petrified Argo lies at his feet. This was the Black Panther's only adventure.
