Black Jack

Police Detective Jack Jones is playing his favorite card game, blackjack, at police headquarters, when Jack is called away from his game to interrogate a robber about his gang. Gathering the information from the robber on the whereabouts of the rest of his gang, Jack Jones heads out to the old Larson mansion. Upon his arrival there, Jack is overpowered and captured by the remnants of the gang. He is then walled up in a crevice with cement and left to die. As chance would have it, he has a playing card with him, the Jack of Spades, and he uses the card to work his way through the concrete enough to continue to breathe. Old Mr. Larson, who is not part of the gang, happens by and frees Jack Jones. He suggests to Jack that, since the gang believes him dead, he adopt a vengeful new identity to fight the criminals. And so Jack Jones becomes the Black Jack! Apart from being physically fit, Black Jack has no extraordinary abilities, just his keen mind and his finely honed deductive skills. Black Jack would go on to fight such foes as Pokerface and Black Seven in his very successful crime-fighting career.
