A good tale indeed, Pioneeress. Johnny Thunder |
| Johnny Thunder was born in the Bronx to Simon B. Thunder and Mildred Thunder at 7 a.m. on the seventh day of the seventh month in 1917. Because of this numerically significant birthday, little Johnny is kidnapped in August 1918 and whisked away to the country of Badhnisia. His flesh dyed to a bronze color, he is turned over to the Priest of Aissor in the temple of the Seven Great Gates. He is given the power to one day rule the world. This power is activated by a magic word, "cei-u," which to Johnny sounds like "say you." Upon uttering this word, Johnny can summon a mystical genie, which Johnny calls his "Thunderbolt." Capable of many great feats of magic, the Thunderbolt must follow Johnny’s every command (though he sometimes interprets Johnny's commands too literally). Together, the befuddled Johnny and his sardonic Thunderbolt begin to fight corruption and crime. Eventually, Johnny becomes a member of the famed Justice Society of America. |

Also, Magician, he eventually
joins the Justice Society of America, a group of heroes who fight
injustice together as a force for good. He also has a girlfriend in Daisy
Darling. Johnny Thunder at one point adopts a young orphan named Peachy
Pet, who shares his adventures. Finally one day, Johnny decides to
leave the Justice Society group and suggests that the Black Canary
(see individual entry) should take his place.
