A world at war, and soon the United
States of America would enter the fray. The Spirit of '76 |
|
August 1941 West Point cadet Gary Blakely, in order to wage a "personal battle" against crime and corruption without his superiors finding out about his exploits, decides to conceal his identity by becoming the Spirit of '76. Inspired by the daring of the soldiers of the American Revolution, Gary sets out on his one-man crusade to stop all forms of tyranny. Only his longtime girlfriend Susan Reynolds and her little brother Tub know who the Spirit of ‘76 is. Gifted with nothing more than his superb physique and military training, along with his bullet proof jacket, the Spirit of ‘76 is quite effective in his efforts, which last several years. The Spirit of ‘76 wages a personal postwar campaign against crime in all its insidious forms in the name of truth, justice and the American way. |
