December 1941 With that day that will live in infamy, Major John Hornet of the Army Air Corps decides he can do more good as a patriotic masked mystery-man than he can as a serviceman. With no special powers other than his military training, Major Hornet adopts the secret identity of Flag Man, defender of America! Flag Man and the camp mascot Rusty (see individual entry) don the colors of Old Glory to root out the enemy agents that are set on destroying America from within. Although some of the patriotic duo's adventures do pit them against the Japanese in the South Pacific, they mostly battle spies and saboteurs. With no military restrictions getting in his way, Flag Man is ruthless to those who would do his country harm and has no compunction against killing his enemies. After all, this is war! The Flag Man and Rusty have a relatively long career. |
