This month we focus on two of the best second-string publishers, Ace Magazines and the Better/Standard/Nedor/Pines group of books, both of which produced some of the most well-known minor characters to come out during the Golden Age of Comics. Help us complete the roster of characters that these two publishers created. Ace Magazine Aaron A. Wyn was a publisher of pulp magazines since 1928. He entered the comic book field at the time when titles were exploding off the racks. Here are his Aces. Better/Standard Next we take a look at the Better/Standard line of comics, run by Ned Pines, a magazine publisher since the 1920's. He also published pulp magazines and, when the comic book craze started, created comic book counterparts of his pulp titles to capture part of that market as well. Ned also published under the brand name or imprint Nedor Books. In the last years of comic book publishing most of the imprints were folded into the Pine Book publishing brand name.
