| His only names were Victor and the Patriot, America's champion of freedom. The Patriot was the founding member of the Freedom Brigade. The Patriot embodied patriotism, gathering his great stamina from the people who believed in the American dream. His most notorious foe was the Masked Swastika, a mastermind of evil and the leader of the infamous Vendetta Squad. The Patriot found his true love in a fellow member of the Brigade, Lady Liberty. They would wed, and, as the group disbanded, the two would go on to raise their only son Myron Victor. At his parents’ urging, Myron, as Merryman, reluctantly formed the Inferior 5 to continue his family’s crime-fighting heritage. The Patriot's own father was Reed Victor, the masked lawman known as the mighty Yellowjacket. In the beginning of his career the Patriot wore a blue/black domino mask which he later abandoned. |
