A rather unusual specimen is the subject of our last profile... White Streak |
| Eons ago a highly advanced alien civilization flourished in what is now South America. These peace-loving people created an android named Manowar. They made it their gift to posterity, programming the android to become active in humankind's darkest hour of need. The android was placed inside a mountain, lying dormant until its time came. Manowar is awakened centuries later when a Nazi bombing raid razes his abode. Firing bolts of "knifelike electrons" from eye slits in his golden facemask, he destroys the Nazi raiders. Eventually, Manowar makes his way north and decides to adopt a more human-like appearance so he can mingle freely among mankind. He assumes the name of Dan Sanders and joins the FBI. Now calling himself the White Streak, the alien android fights the ills besetting America and the world. Using his electron vision he can create useful tools, such as ladders of fire to climb on. He also has x-ray vision, extreme durability, and super-strength, making him a feared and formidable foe of wrongdoers. |

Also, Fastman!, later in
his career the android White Streak (who now looks human) is joined by
a partner the Red Seal (see individual entry), and together they
wage an unending battle against the forces of evil. Also of note, two
other androids made their appearance around the same time, the time-travelling
Iron Skull and the misnamed Human Torch (see separate entries),
a flaming being wielding the great powers of fire. There seems to be no
relation between the three androids.
