Heroic men escape the dictator's sword and continue their fight from America's friendly shores...and the long arm of the Gestapo reaches across the ocean for its victims. But Twilight stands sentinel. At Marine headquarters, Sergeant Terry Gardner, ex-private detective, stands before his commanding officer. He is ordered to keep a sharp watch out on the Slovic Minister, Wilmer. Acting as a secret bodyguard, Terry heads off to his assignment. Meanwhile the Nazi spies Maxim and Nada plot to kill Wilmer. But their plans are overheard by an old gypsy’s parrot. As the parrot flies out of the window he was perched on he repeats over and over the evil plans Maxim and Nada have concocted. Maxim races out of the building and follows the parrot to his home across the street. Maxim, finding the parrot, is about to kill him, when his owner, the old gypsy, pleads for Polly the Parrot’s life. Maxim guns down the old gypsy, and the frightened parrot escapes. Terry Gardner hears the shots and sees the parrot fly away, shouting "murderer, murderers." Terry encounters the evil pair as they exit the building in pursuit of Polly. Terry intercepts them, and a fight ensues between Terry and Maxim. Realizing he is outclassed, Maxim, with Nada's help, escapes in a speeding auto. The parrot flies down, repeating Maxim's sinister plan, and Terry finds a small card attached to Polly that reads "At twilight you will be master." Terry muses to himself over the course of events when he sees a costume on a rack in the store he followed Polly into. Upon the front of the uniform is the big letter "T," and Terry takes this as an omen. He decides he can better deal with the situation in disguise. Now, dressed in the hirsute clothes, Terry Gardner has become Twilight! As Twilight, aided by Polly the Parrot, he uses his great physique and keen mind to foil the Nazi's scheme to kill the Slovic Minister, Wilmer. So begins the career of Twilight and Polly. |
