    Left abandoned in a radium mine by two thieves, Hugh Goddard suffers blindness from his exposure to the deadly element. Discovering a special pair of glasses that allows his radium-blinded eyes to see in the dark, Goddard gains his revenge on the two radium thieves. Still blind by day and set apart by his ghoulish glasses, he adopts a similarly ghoulish outfit to strike fear into the hearts of criminals everywhere as Nightro, bespectacled nemesis of evil! With his brown guide dog Blackie, he fights a never- ending battle against all wrongdoing as this has now become his purpose for living.

    Possessing no other abilities other than perfect night-vision, Nightro is in fit physical condition and is gifted with great acrobatic skills and great deductive abilities. Unfortunately, Nightro had a short-lived career, disappearing into the shadows from whence he came.
