Silver Streak

December 1939 - May 1940

    A racecar-building swami finds that every time he enters his car in an event its driver is slain by giant insects. For his next race, he hypnotizes a young cab driver to handle the car. He too is slain but is resurrected by the mystic to drive once again—this time in a super-fast racing car called "The Silver Streak." Despite this new advantage, our resurrected taxi-driving hero fails to learn the secret of the monster insects! In his next adventure, the young driver is better prepared; he has now been given a "secret fluid" that enables him to run at super-speed and fly. With these newfound powers Silver Streak hunts down the evil mad scientist who is responsible for the gigantic insects.

    Later on, Silver Streak befriends a shoeshine boy, Mickey O'Toole, with whom he shares the "secret fluid." Thus, Mickey becomes Meteor-Mercury. And so, with his sidekick and his super-fast falcon Zoom, Silver Streak fights on to make the world a better place in which to live.
