The Crusaders of America

    During the Korean War, with anti communist fears running rampant in the nation's capitol, the Crusaders of America were formed. The group, consisting of the Black Witch, Captain Commando, Doc Strong, the Firefly, and a variant version of the Shield, banded together to face America's enemies from abroad and from within. In this time of paranoia and suspicion, these champions of the America Dream were vital to the defense of our country.

    The Black Witch possessed unknown arcane energies attributed to "magic" that she could control and wield; she could also levitate herself with ease. She was rumored to have lived for "centuries" in various incarnations.

    Captain Commando was a mysterious agent in the service of his country. The "Commando" had no special powers other than his great agility and a "sixth" sense, which was psychic in nature, plus his military training.

    Doc Strong, mysterious adventurer and soldier of fortune, had incredible strength and could leap great distances. Rumor has it that he was from a devastated "unknown" future reality of Earth.

    The Firefly could control the pyrotechnics generated by his portable flame-thrower into any form he chose. This "Firebug" was at times a hot-headed individual, but no further information on him is available.

    This group was lead by the government agent known as the Shield, one of many men who bore that name in the defense of America's freedom. They were aided by a scientist friend of theirs, who in later years caused the Crusaders of America to disband.
